Senior Visual Designer The ASU Outreach Hub is dedicated to connecting more constituents in impactful ways using data-derived insights, integrated and collaborative approaches and advanced outreach techniques in support of the ASU Public Enterprise. The Senior Visual Designer utilizes strategic thinking to produce innovative, high impact design solutions to engage audiences across a wide range of marketing channels. This role is responsible for creating unique visual solutions for all digital and traditional marketing channels to inspire philanthropic support and donor engagement for resource-raising initiatives and action-driving outreach that directly benefit Arizona State University. What you'll do: Consults and ideates with team members and partners to deliver effective communication and design solutions that are visually captivating, effective, and leading the market Assesses usability, marketability, and success of design solutions; adjusts designs based on feedback Develops ideas, concepts and campaigns as guided by a creative brief; translates partner needs, end-user needs and technical requirements into designs that are visually enticing, easy to use/read, and emotionally engaging Presents and advises on unique new visual approaches From concept to production, creates all forms of marketing materials including but not limited to: Print: postcards, booklets, brochures, magazines, posters, signs, fliers, etc. Digital: emails, social media, presentations, web advertisements, websites Concept: logos and branding 3-D: displays, signage and apparel, novelty items Researches, gathers, illustrates, designs and produces visual content for projects Stays current on nonprofit and fundraising industry trends and design approaches Champions the brand; works collaboratively with other team members and the Art Director to ensure a consistent, integrated brand perception and user-experience Manages jobs in progress, procures bids for work product, resolves technical issues, and proofs materials to ensure quality and deadlines are met; tracks projects and time in project management system Leads the day-to-day support and development of student staff/interns Other duties as assigned What you'll need: Advanced knowledge of visual design principles Advanced proficiency with Adobe CS: InDesign, Illustrator, XD, Photoshop, Acrobat; project management systems and MS Office Advanced skills in illustration, photo editing, animation, and web design Strong conceptual abilities, sophisticated sense of color and layout with an eye for cropping/selecting photography Strong typographic and editorial design skills Evidence of excellent communication and demonstrated organizational skills, collaboration focused, attention to detail, and high degree of openness to new approaches and new ideas Ability to work creatively and follow detailed instructions when required Ability to interpret input, feedback, and markups Ability to prepare files for production with a high degree of accuracy and with minimal supervision Strong creative and critical thinking skills Problem solver who can take initiative and set priorities while being flexible Adept at navigating complex environments with evolving priorities and communication plans Ability to work creatively both independently and as part of a team Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and responsibility regarding information related to foundation and university business and confidential prospect information Strong and collegial interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing, and by phone Relevant qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design /Visual Communications or related field Four (4) years of progressive design experience in a design studio, ad agency, public relations firm, or in-house marketing team including: Familiarity with large-format publications, multi-platform campaigns, brand development and environmental graphics Managing multiple jobs simultaneously, working effectively and efficiently with individuals and teams Managing and prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines, and working collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment Photo shoot direction, selection and image manipulation, lifestyle photography and styling Or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved Preferred education and experience: Experience with fundraising collateral Experience in an agency or in-house environment Experience working within established workflows and processes On-hands experience with photoshoot direction, setup, and execution Benefits: Hybrid work schedule.
